Friends of Balmain Library Writing Competition - Awards Ceremony

Huge congratulations to Maya and Rose (both 5/6N) who were award winners in the recent Friends of Balmain Library Writing Competition. The awards ceremony, held last Friday night, saw five awards handed out to Year 5 students and four awards to Year 6 students.

Maya received a Year 6 Highly Commended Award for her piece titled, "River 32".

Rose received a Year 5 Encouragement Award for her piece titled, "Blank Space".  

Congratulations to Tom, a former Nicho student, who also received an award.

The award ceremony was fantastic with readings from each piece and a discussion around what effective techniques the writers used. The Hill of Content book vouchers were very much appreciated by the students.
